An impact entrepreneur with a world of purpose to share

Your purpose is my passion.

It all started when…

I held my dying sister’s hand as her heart beat its last rhythms. She was 21 years old. I was 23 years old and the certain world I trusted was before me, morphed into an open field of questions and possibility that both scared the life out of me and excited me. My driving purpose and passion became to accelerate and drive impact - starting close in with ourselves, and then outward to the waiting world. It probably began earlier, as a child, with a hunger for learning, a yearning for things to be better and a deep curiosity in people.

I’m an impact entrepreneur and prior to founding Talking Sticks (this here wonderful community) in 2011, I led two national not for profits as Chief Executive and in my senior executive roles, helped drive impact at some of Australia’s iconic educational, social, and arts institutions. Prior to my current portfolio life, my impact was made in senior leadership roles spanning executive strategy, marketing, communications, and innovation.

With a fair bit of savvy around the purpose economy, the impact world and connections with inspiring leaders creating positive change, I joined the team of the Impact Investment Summit Asia Pacific in 2015 and continue to curate three days of content designed to drive the sector forward, catalyse new players, deals and initiatives, and connect impact entrepreneurs in all of their glorious diversity.

My life has always been about meaning-making and purpose. Walking my talk as they say, and giving back where and when I can. I currently Chair the Board at The Groundswell Project, a national social venture disrupting the status quo at end of life, and creating systemic change so when someone is dying or grieving in Australia, we all know what to do. It’s about activating citizens and neighbours and it’s about measurable impact and outcomes in compassionate communities.

I am mum to three wonderful humans, make my home close to the headlands and ocean of Sydney’s northern beaches peninsula, bask in nature as often as possible, read voraciously, connect often and deeply and listen. I am always listening.
